DEPARTMENT OF LIFE LONG LEARNING (DLLE)

Establishment - 2008-2009

 

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) established on October 12, 1978 and has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai science 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the University and the community. In our college the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension established in 2008-2009. The Department leaped forward in the conduct of its Extension Work Programs by increasing the number of students enrolling for Extension Work of the Department. It developed the student's rapport with the society and gave them the opportunity to enhance their skill and qualities to become the sensitive citizens.

The Extension Dimension (To Reach to Unreached)

 

To facilitate the sensitization of the student to the socio- cultural realities, the department offers for the students, extension work projects encompassing social issues. There are 6 different projects useful for creating social awareness in the society which are called as extension work projects. The projects are developed by Dept. of lifelong learning and extension, university of Mumbai as per UGC guidelines for the benefit of the society in which college students are actively involved. The students participating in these activities are getting the benefit of additional 10 grace marks as per university Ordinance 229. A in their final examinations.

Our college students are enrolled for these projects and perform various activities for the social awareness based on various issues/problems in society. such as street play, exhibition, poster making, songs, speech, survey, seminar & Conferences.

Objectives of the Extension Activities

 
  • To enhance the inbuilt skills and qualities of the student.
  • To develop leadership qualities of the student.
  • To give student an opportunity of event management.
  • To make the student aware of social problems.
  • To make the student concern about social behavior.
  • To make the student concern about social integration.

Types Of Extension Work Projects

 

There are six types of Extension Work Projects are being offered by the department of Mumbai University under the two different units.

    Vocational Career Oriented Projects :

    Community Oriented Projects :
  • Population Education Club (PEC)
  • Status of Women in Society (SWS)
  • National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
